Project Accountant

We are now seeking a Project Accountant to add to the team.This position requires a strong aptitude for cost analysis, particularly in relation to collections and reconciliation issues. The selected candidate will serve as technical expert to external clients providing support for complex and high-risk matters involving assigned accounts and project cost evaluations.This role is often part of a fast-paced environment and requires the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively. You must represent department with a positive and cooperative attitude in all interactions.Required Skills:Knowledge of general accounting practices.Working experience in Deltek, experience with Vision or Vantagepoint a plus.Assists with resolving complex project variances. Identify and implement alternative solutions to prevent project cost overrunsManages accounts receivable by communicating with clients to identify and resolve account discrepanciesCollects unsettled accounts receivable to ensure timely cash flowPrepares project cost breakdown to external clients and presents results to managementPrepares weekly collection reports and reviews assigned accounts for accuracy and ensures project reconciliations are being completedMonitors account balance and collaborate with internal teams to resolve billing and account-related concernsResponsible for daily entries of project activities with extensive details that are critical to the continuation of construction projectsReviews and audit projects’ As-builts to ensure quality and completeness of projectEnsures all activities comply with federal, state, and company financial policies and regulationsImplement process improvementsRequired Experience:Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or equivalent experienceAt least 3 years in project administration, preferably in an engineering or technically related field.Annual Salary Range: $55,000 - $75,000 (Depending on Experience)Please note that Wilson & Company is not currently sponsoring applicants for work visas.About Us:For nearly a century, Wilson & Company, Inc., Engineers & Architects, has provided award-winning engineering, architecture, planning, environmental, surveying, geospatial, and construction management services.
