Location: Washington, DC - Capitol Hill
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM-5:30 PM | Onsite
Contract Length: 4 Months
Pay Rate: $25-$30 per hour

Position Overview

We are seeking 2 Accounts Payable Clerk professionals to support a Federal Government Agency on a 4-month contract assignment located onsite on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC.

The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of Accounts Payable, Accounting, or Customer Service experience , strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and proficiency with PeopleSoft . Experience with Coupa Financial Systems is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Payable

• Review and/or approve a high volume of vendor invoices, staff reimbursements, and House/CAO vouchers for compliance with applicable rules and regulations.
• Obtain required W-9 information for vendor payments.
• Process financial data in PeopleSoft and Coupa Financial Systems .
• Communicate with offices regarding outstanding voucher documentation and payment issues.
• Respond to vendor and office inquiries regarding payment status.
• Research and resolve exceptions identified through monthly quality assurance reviews.
• Handle customer inquiries via email, phone, and in person, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Reconciliation & Analysis

• Assist customers with reconciliation of Monthly Financial Statements.
• Support general budget reporting and account analysis.
• Review and reconcile customer account information.
• Identify discrepancies and assist with resolution.

Additional Responsibilities

• Phone and satellite office coverage.
• Quality assurance and issue resolution.
• Additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of relevant experience in Accounts Payable, Accounting, Customer Service, or an equivalent role.
• Hands-on experience with PeopleSoft is required.
• Knowledge of Coupa Financial Systems is preferred.
• Experience reconciling account information.
• Experience working in a fast-paced accounting or customer service environment, preferably Accounts Payable.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Outlook .
• Experience with automated financial systems and accounting software.
• Previous U.S. House of Representatives experience is preferred .
• Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background check .
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred; equivalent relevant work experience may be considered.
