Patient Services Specialist

Medasource is hiring a Patient Services Registration Clerk to support the Surgery Department of a large healthcare organization in Baldwin Park, CA. This is a 100% onsite, full-time opportunity for someone with prior hospital registration/patient access experience . The ideal candidate is comfortable working directly with patients, verifying insurance, completing registrations, obtaining required signatures, and collecting patient payments in a fast-paced hospital environment. Schedule Full-time, 40 hours/week
3:00 PM–11:30 PM
Rotating schedule with weekend availability required Every other week may include Saturday and/or Sunday Pay: $25/hour Contract: Through January 3, 2027, with possibility of extension What You’ll Be Doing Register patients and accurately enter patient demographic information Verify insurance and account information Obtain signatures on required consent and regulatory forms Collect copays, deductibles, and other patient payments Assist patients throughout the hospital registration process Resolve routine registration and insurance-related issues Maintain patient confidentiality and provide excellent customer service Navigate multiple registration and healthcare systems simultaneously Required Qualifications Previous hospital registration or hospital patient access experience Knowledge of third-party insurance verification Experience collecting and entering patient demographics Experience obtaining patient consents/signatures Strong customer service and communication skills Ability to multitask in a high-volume hospital environment Excellent attendance and punctuality High school diploma or equivalent Preferred Epic experience Previous experience in a hospital Surgery, ED, Admitting, or Patient Access department Previous experience with a large healthcare organization Experience with complex insurance verification, coordination of benefits, workers' compensation, or automobile insurance Important: Candidates whose experience is limited to medical office reception, scheduling, or physician-office front desk work without direct hospital registration experience will not meet the requirements for this position. #J-18808-Ljbffr MedasourceVacancy posted 2 days ago
