Member Account Executive

Headquartered in Sioux Falls, SD, Missouri River Energy Services (MRES) is a joint action agency supporting 61 member municipalities that own and operate their own electric distribution systems. MRES supplies members with reliable, cost‑effective, long‑term energy and energy services in a fiscally responsible and environmentally effective manner. Learn more about us on our website Responsibilities Ensures Members are informed, supported and engaged in programs that enhance value, improve customer satisfaction, and reduce peak demand when beneficial. Develops and maintains positive relationships with Members and acts as a liaison between members and MRES internal departments, ensuring timely communication and coordination of programs and services. Assists members in developing and implementing strategies for serving key accounts to promote positive relationships and loyalty by understanding member needs, goals, and challenges. Promotes, implements, and educates members, their customers and trade allies on energy efficiency, demand management and beneficial electrification programs and other energy services through on‑site meetings, public events and presentations. Cross‑promotes and educates members and their customers on the full complement of MRES program offerings tailored to each member community’s unique needs, including rate studies, strategic planning, grid and systems modernization, transmission studies, cyber assessments, community sponsorship, grant opportunities, and more. Understands member objectives and obstacles and guides them on available programming to achieve their aspirations. Provides timely information to interested members and routes them to MRES’ internal experts, ensuring a warm hand‑off and checking in with members at key milestones of new program engagement and assessing progress. Educates members and customers on Bright Energy Choices green pricing program and helps members understand their MRES resource mix charts. Identifies opportunities to expand member engagement, including events, sponsorships, and additional services. Develops and maintains key relationships with community partners to support successful program delivery and Member initiatives. Develops, coordinates, and leads special projects and initiatives related to member services and programs; collaborates with internal program leads to provide member perspective as the voice of the member/customer. Analyzes program performance and member feedback to identify opportunities for improvement and recommends enhancements to programs and services to maximize member value and MRES impact. Utilizes systems and tools to track Member interactions, program participation and project outcomes, maintains accurate and complete records; assists Members with reporting for state and federal agencies on energy efficiency and demand reduction. Practices and adheres to industry and customer safety requirements. Represents MRES on industry, development, and project committees, task forces, and conferences, as assigned. Keeps abreast of relevant professional, industry, and inter‑utility developments. Travels up to 60% of the work schedule with occasional overnight stays. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Education and/or Experience Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, engineering or related field, and four years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; and to compute rates, ratios, percentages, and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; and to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Computer Skills Knowledge of word‑processing software, spreadsheet software, and contact‑management systems; proficiency in customer databases preferred.
