Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health evaluations and assessments, ensuring accurate documentation from the initial consultation through to treatment completion.

• Develop tailored intervention and recovery plans for individuals, couples, families, and groups, addressing their unique mental, emotional, and behavioral health needs.

• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic modalities to foster healing and personal growth.

• Monitors clients' progress throughout their treatment journey, making adjustments to treatment plans as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.

• Collaborate with a team of mental health specialists, including psychiatrists, social workers, and primary care physicians, to develop cohesive intervention strategies.

• Provide follow-up care coordination for clients who have been hospitalized, ensuring they receive appropriate support upon their discharge.

• Recognize and address high-risk behaviors that could hinder recovery and provide support to both clients and their families.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our counselors work with a varied clientele, including adults, adolescents, and families, facing a range of challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, and other emotional disturbances. The ideal candidate will have the ability to adapt therapeutic approaches to meet the specific needs of diverse populations while maintaining a strong commitment to ethical and effective care.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in California.

• A positive score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and demonstrate empathy towards clients.

Preferred Experience\n

• Prior experience in a mental health counseling role, ideally within an outpatient mental health setting.

• Familiarity with electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, to document patient interactions and treatment plans efficiently.

• Experience working with individuals facing both mental health challenges and underlying physical health or addiction disorders.

• A strong knowledge of the best practices outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
\n
• An understanding of psychopharmacology and the impact of medications prescribed by psychiatrists.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The salary for this position ranges from $80,000 to $100,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
