Riverbank Unified School District is seeking a skilled and organized Administrative Assistant School Operations to support the daily functions of our school site. This position provides clerical and administrative support, assists with student records and scheduling, and serves as a key point of contact for families, staff, and the community. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and committed to fostering an efficient and welcoming school environment.
Job Description / Essential Elements: Administrative Assistant / School Operations, under supervision of the site Principal or designee, perform a wide variety of clerical and specialized and responsible pupil personnel duties. Required qualifications include knowledge and application of district and school policies and procedures, methods and practices of office management, operation of office machines, record keeping techniques, and correct English usage. Ability to work confidentially, see for purposes of reading printed matter and observing students, hear and understand speech at normal levels, communicate so others will be able to clearly understand normal conversation, lift, carry, push, pull, bend, twist, stoop, kneel, run and crawl, perform light physical exertion, lift 25 pounds, carry 15 pounds, reach in all directions, operate a variety of modern office equipment including typewriters, computers, 10 Key adding machines, copiers, duplicators, fax machines, perform secretarial work of above average difficulty without supervision, apply interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy, type 40 words (net) per minute from clear copy, review, code, check, and enter data on a computer, verify accuracy and completeness of documents and process data, make simple arithmetic calculations with accuracy, compile, maintain, and submit accurate and complete records and reports, read, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, policies and procedures, perform clerical duties such as filing, duplication, typing and maintaining records, establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others, meet schedules and deadlines, speak and understand Spanish is desirable, plan and organize vs. utilize time management and organizational skills, work at a desk, conference table or in meetings of various configurations, stand, sit and walk for extended periods of time.
Essential functions of this position may include, but not limited to: performing a wide variety of specialized and responsible administrative works independently; reviewing, checking, correcting and compiling a variety of information; preparing and maintaining a variety of records, logs, and files including information of a confidential nature; responding to requests for information from students, staff, and the general public regarding District attendance programs, policies, procedures, and regulations; greeting public, staff, and students, and provides information and makes referrals to appropriate personnel; arranging appointments, events, and meetings, including notifying participants, reserving facilities and coordinating details; creating and developing Master Schedules; assisting in the scheduling students; assisting in the documentation of expulsion and other disciplinary actions; representing the school at SARB hearings and monitoring any directives; holding parent conferences to discuss discipline and or academic needs of students; assisting in the student study team procedure and implementation of recommendations and or directives; assisting in after school extra curricular activities and supervision; performing related duties as assigned.
Education/Experience: High School Diploma or GED required; course work in secretarial science, business and/or office practices, or related field is desirable; two (2) years of responsible secretarial experience required. Conditions of Employment: First Aid Certificate required; CPR considered an enhancement/not required; valid California Driver's License required; typing certificate of 40 WPM.
CPR/First Aid Certification (in-person, hands-on CPR/AED course approved by the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or another provider recognized by the California EMS Authority.
