Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a Special Education Teacher in an onsite environment. This position focuses on serving 7th-grade students as an LBS1 specialist, offering vital co-teaching support to students working toward academic success within a mainstream setting. You’ll play a key role in both English Language Arts and Math for a total caseload of 10 students, each with targeted reading or mathematics IEP goals. Students participate fully in academic, special, lunch, and recess activities alongside their general education peers, providing a well-rounded educational experience.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid Illinois Special Education Teaching License (LBS1 endorsement required)
• Professional Educator License (PEL) required by the state
• Experience with 7th-grade curriculum preferred
• Background working with co-taught classroom models and developing IEPs
• Strong ability to collaborate effectively with general education teachers and other student support staff
• Ability to provide differentiated instruction within the general education setting

Primary Responsibilities:

• Co-teach in 7th-grade ELA and Math classrooms alongside general educators
• Develop, implement, and track progress on IEP goals for students on your caseload
• Support academic growth and foster an inclusive classroom environment
• Collaborate regularly with staff, students, and families to ensure the best outcomes for each student
• Encourage students’ participation in all school activities, promoting social and academic inclusion
