Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit / Telemetry RN – Texas

Start Date: November 16, 2026

Location: Lubbock, Texas

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Self-scheduling with 1:4 patient ratios during days and nights (1:5 on weekends). Six weekend shifts required per six-week schedule. On-call is not required. Floating between units may be required. Twelve hours of orientation provided.

Highlights:

• 379-bed short-term acute care facility with Level II Trauma Center designation
• 29-bed Progressive Care/Neuro Telemetry unit with daily census of 27 patients
• Comprehensive Stroke Center featuring a dedicated 4-bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit with continuous EEG monitoring
• Diverse patient population including stroke/TIA, trauma, neurosurgical patients (craniotomy, ACDF, TLIF, XLIF), subdural hematoma, and cardiac telemetry patients
• EPIC electronic health record system in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and more

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Current Compact state nursing license (must be in hand at time of submission)
• Active certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Experience with 1:4 patient ratios required
• Level II Trauma Center and community hospital experience preferred
• Proficiency in telemetry, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, cardiac drip management and titration, vasoactive drip management, central and peripheral line care, blood product administration, insulin and heparin protocols, non-invasive airway management, and isolation precautions
• First-time travelers accepted
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Two professional references covering one year within the last three years required
