Legal Assistant (Remote / Hybrid)

Exo Legal is a small, busy Nashville law firm serving banks, businesses, and entrepreneurs. We pride ourselves on fast, smart, and responsive client service, and we're looking for a part-time Legal Assistant to help us keep it that way. You'll work directly with our founding attorney on a team of 2 (well, it'd be 3, with you), with lots of opportunity for growth.

As a young, growing firm, we value flexibility, initiative, and an entrepreneurial spirit. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who takes pride in doing good work. We don't stick too closely to roles here--we all just want to do great work for our clients.

The role is listed as remote/hybrid, but local candidates will have a slight edge, since they'd be available for occasional in-person tasks.

What you'll do:

• Support attorney and paralegal on commercial litigation and transactional matters, helping keep files organized and moving forward
• Prepare and format correspondence and routine documents
• Schedule hearings, depositions, and meetings, and track case deadlines
• Organize and track documents and court filings
• File and e-file in state and federal courts
• Assist with new client intakes, open files, and handle administrative communications with clients and third parties
• Maintain electronic and physical records, including mail, email, pleadings, and document storage.

The role can grow over time based on your drive and interest in learning.

What we're looking for:

• At least 1 year of experience in a law firm or similar legal setting
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a client-service mindset
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities independently
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Clio, and NetDocuments
• Experience with banking, bankruptcy, or creditors' rights matters is a plus

Schedule and location:

This is a part-time role of 16–25 hours per week, with flexibility in when those hours are worked. The schedule may increase over time for the right candidate. The position is primarily remote, with in-office work as needed for filings and client meetings at our office in East Nashville.

Pay: $25–$33 per hour, depending on experience, with raises based on performance.
