Sous Chef (Part Time)

Release Recovery Chef

We're looking for a reliable, creative, and empathetic chef to join our team part-time and oversee meal preparation at our NYC location. This isn't just a kitchen job - it's a chance to nourish people in recovery, provide comfort through food, and be a consistent presence in their healing journey.

You'll work closely with the residential staff to plan and prepare delicious, balanced meals for our clients, ensuring they are well-fed and well-cared for in our residential settings.

Job Responsibilities

• Create and cook nutritious, tasty meals that meet client dietary needs and preferences
• Maintain a weekly meal schedule and coordinate the timing of meals
• Prepare lunch and dinner daily, occasionally supporting breakfast or weekend planning

• Manage grocery orders, kitchen inventory, and supplies
• Coordinate with vendors and delivery services to maintain stock Monitor food freshness and ensure proper food safety practices

• Keep kitchens clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety standards
• Occasionally support clients in learning basic cooking or kitchen skills as part of their recovery experience
• Collaborate with house staff to ensure kitchen environments are welcoming and inclusive

• Work closely with program director, operations, and support staff to align food service with program needs
• Adapt meals and schedules as needed for house events, client preferences, or seasonal availability

• A confident, experienced cook or chef with a deep love of nourishing others through food
• Organized, dependable, and able to manage your time independently
