Dermatology Sales Specialist

Territory: West & Central Florida (Tampa, St. Petersburg, Clearwater, Sarasota, Bradenton, Lakeland, Orlando and surrounding markets)

Location: Tampa, FL preferred (Remote)

Travel: Highly field-based role with regular travel throughout West and Central Florida, including same-day travel between major metropolitan areas and occasional overnight travel as business needs require.

About Phothera

Lucas James Talent Partners has been retained by Phothera, a Madison Medical company within Madison Industries, to identify a high-performing Dermatology Sales Specialist to launch and grow one of the company's highest-priority commercial territories.

This is not a traditional pharmaceutical sales role built around maintaining an established territory.

This is an opportunity to build something.

Phothera is transforming how patients access phototherapy by allowing appropriate patients to receive treatment in the comfort of their own home rather than traveling to a dermatology office multiple times each week.

Its home Narrowband UVB phototherapy platform provides dermatologists with an evidence-based, non-systemic treatment option for patients living with psoriasis, atopic dermatitis (eczema), and vitiligo. As providers continue seeking effective alternatives and complements to biologic therapies, home phototherapy has become an increasingly valuable treatment option.

The Opportunity

This is a true builder opportunity.

Rather than inheriting a mature territory with established prescribing habits, you'll introduce providers to an innovative treatment platform, develop new clinical relationships, educate practices, and build long-term territory growth across West and Central Florida.

Success requires far more than strong sales ability. We're looking for someone who combines clinical credibility, disciplined territory management, and an entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to build trusted relationships throughout every level of a dermatology practice.

You'll spend the majority of your time in the field calling on dermatologists, advanced practice providers, biologic coordinators, office managers, medical assistants, and clinical staff while serving as the commercial leader for your territory.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys opening new doors, launching innovative products, influencing prescribing behavior, and creating momentum within an underpenetrated market.

Existing relationships throughout West and Central Florida are highly valued, but equally important is your ability to continue developing new provider relationships and expanding adoption across the territory.

Important: This position requires medical dermatology sales experience. Experience primarily within medical aesthetics, med spas, injectables, cosmetic dermatology, or aesthetic devices alone does not meet the experience requirements for this role.

What You'll Do

• Launch and grow one of Phothera's most strategically important commercial territories
• Develop and execute a comprehensive territory business plan
• Build long-term relationships with dermatologists and their care teams
• Educate providers on the clinical benefits of home Narrowband UVB phototherapy
• Conduct product presentations, lunch-and-learns, and clinical education programs
• Introduce new providers to the Phothera platform while expanding utilization within existing accounts
• Partner with office personnel on workflow, reimbursement, prior authorization, specialty pharmacy, and patient access considerations
• Identify new business opportunities through disciplined prospecting and territory planning
• Serve as the trusted clinical and commercial resource for providers throughout your territory
• Provide market intelligence and competitive insights that help shape Phothera's commercial strategy

Who You Are

• You are more than a pharmaceutical sales representative.
• You are a relationship builder, territory owner, clinical educator, and business developer who enjoys creating opportunities rather than simply maintaining existing business.
• The ideal candidate has current or recent experience calling on medical dermatologists, understands how to navigate complex dermatology practices, and enjoys building credibility with physicians, advanced practice providers, biologic coordinators, office managers, and clinical staff.
• You thrive in highly autonomous environments, enjoy owning your business, and take pride in building markets from the ground up.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's degree
• 2+ years of current or recent medical dermatology sales experience
• Current or recent experience calling on medical dermatologists
• Demonstrated success driving prescription growth, provider adoption, territory expansion, or market share growth
• Experience managing a geographic sales territory
• Excellent relationship-building, presentation, and communication skills
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively throughout West and Central Florida

Preferred

• Existing relationships with medical dermatologists throughout West and Central Florida
• Experience selling biologics, specialty pharmaceuticals, or other complex therapies
• Knowledge of reimbursement, prior authorization, specialty pharmacy, and patient access
• Product launch experience
• Experience educating providers on complex therapies or medical devices
• Experience working within a growth-stage or entrepreneurial commercial organization

Compensation & Benefits

• Base Salary: $100,000-$120,000
