As our company continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable / Collections Specialist to join our accounting team in Santee, CA . If you're organized, detail-oriented, and enjoy maintaining customer accounts while providing outstanding service, we'd love to hear from you.

Position Summary

The Accounts Receivable / Collections Specialist is responsible for managing business-to-business accounts, collecting outstanding balances, posting customer payments, reconciling accounts, and supporting the accounting department with daily financial operations. The ideal candidate is professional, dependable, and comfortable communicating with customers regarding account balances while maintaining positive business relationships.

Responsibilities

• Manage business-to-business (B2B) accounts receivable
• Contact customers regarding outstanding invoices and past due balances
• Receive, post, and reconcile customer payments
• Monitor aging reports and perform collection follow-up
• Process customer credit applications and vendor credit requests
• Review and maintain Certificates of Insurance (COIs)
• Resolve billing discrepancies and payment issues
• Maintain accurate customer account records
• Work closely with Accounting, Sales, and Operations departments
• Deliver professional customer service while achieving collection goals
• Assist with general accounting and administrative duties as assigned

Qualifications Required

✔ Minimum 2+ years of Accounts Receivable experience

✔ Minimum 2+ years of Collections experience

✔ 2+ years of QuickBooks experience (Required)

✔ 2+ years of Microsoft Office experience, including Excel, Outlook, Word, and Microsoft Teams (Required)

✔ Experience posting customer payments and reconciling accounts

✔ Strong communication and customer service skills

✔ Excellent organizational and time management skills

✔ Ability to multitask in a fast-paced office environment

✔ Ability to work independently while collaborating with a small team

✔ High attention to detail and accuracy

Preferred Qualifications

• Construction industry experience
• Equipment rental industry experience
• Industrial or service company accounting experience
• Experience handling Certificates of Insurance (COIs)
• Credit application processing
• Vendor onboarding
• ERP or accounting software experience

Compensation

• $27.00-$30.00 per hour (DOE)
