AoPS Academy offers unique problem solving curriculum at its in-person locations across the country as well as through the virtual campus.As part-time front desk staff at our location in Fremont, CA you will answer phone calls and emails, warmly welcome both current and prospective students and their families, and act as the friendly face of AoPS Academy while classes are in session. Additionally, in this role you will support campus operations by helping take inventory, tidying up the facility, and assisting the full-time staff with other campus procedures to ensure things are running smoothly.This is an in-person, part-time position at our Fremont campus. This position begins as a summer role with the opportunity to continue into the academic year.Ideal Schedule/AvailabilityMonday-Thursday availability requiredSome weekend availability neededIdeal SkillsTech Savvy (both Apple and PC)CSR & CRM ExperiencePrioritizationCommunicationDe-escalation instinctsJob Responsibilities:Serve as campus receptionist; answer the phone, respond to voicemails, and pass on relevant information to the appropriate staff memberManage and respond to customer inquiries both by phone and emailMaintain multiple calendars, schedule meetings and ensure everything is up-to-dateUse internal database to generate reports and listsData entryProvide admissions assistance as needed with consultation requests, scheduling, and post-consultation follow-upsOrganize and prepare classroom and office suppliesSupervise students between classesPerform light cleaning duties; assume responsibility for the organization, operation, and appearance of the lobby and front desk areaParticipate in occasional outreach/in-reach opportunitiesOther duties as assignedRequired / Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Experience confidently interacting with customers; experience interacting with families and students (elementary through high school) preferredStrong organizational and computer skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skills; knowledge of correct grammar, spelling, and English usageEstablish and maintain positive, effective working relationships with students, parents, staff, and the general publicAbility to work both independently and collaborativelyMaintain flexibility to effectively solve problems under pressureAdministrative and/or customer service experienceProficiency with Google Workspace applications (i.e. Docs, Sheets, Calendar, etc.)Motivated to learn new technologiesMaintain customer confidentialityExcited about our mission of motivating high-performing studentsLift up to 25lbsBenefits and Compensation:The Front Desk Associate pay rate for our Fremont location ranges from 24.29 - 24.86/hour.
