In this role, you'll collaborate closely with accomplished surgeons and caring nurses, ensuring that every patient's surgical experience is smooth, supported, and centered on their unique health needs. Job Responsibilities
- Perform thorough assessments of patients, including detailed physical examinations and medical history reviews
- Assist in diagnosing surgical conditions through the analysis of imaging studies and lab reports
- Work closely with surgeons to develop and implement patient-specific surgical treatment plans
- Provide intraoperative support by preparing the operating room, positioning the patient, and efficiently passing instruments throughout procedures
- Ensure exceptional pre-operative and post-operative care, covering medication management, wound care, discharge strategies, and patient education
- Master's degree in Physician Assistant studies from an accredited program
- Completion of clinical rotations with a focus on surgical care is strongly preferred
- Current and unrestricted PA-C certification
- BLS and ACLS certification necessary
- State licensure (or eligibility) as a Physician Assistant
- Thorough understanding of surgical practices and sterile techniques
- Demonstrated ability to interpret diagnostic tests and contribute to complex clinical decisions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Capable of thriving in high-stress scenarios, particularly during surgeries
