Temporary Faculty Pool - Part-Time Lecturer (2026/27) Department: Architecture, College of Environmental Design Subject Areas Structures / Building Systems Integration Architectural Mechanical Systems Foundational Architectural Design Studio Professional Architectural Practice Responsibilities Teach assigned division courses in the department’s curriculum and serve weekly office hours based on assigned teaching unit load. Assignments may include day, evening, and/or weekend courses. Be prepared to begin teaching on short notice. Fall term begins late August through mid-December; Spring term mid-January through mid-May; Summer sessions may also be available. Required Qualifications A Master’s degree in Architecture or a related discipline relevant to the curriculum. Preferred Qualifications Professional experience in practice. Prior teaching experience at the college or university level and ability to furnish evidence of strong teaching. Salary and Benefit Information Initial rank and salary for lecturer faculty are determined by the hiring department based on professional experience and educational background. Initial appointments are for one semester only. Base salary is prorated to units worked and paid monthly. The anticipated hiring range depends on qualifications, not to exceed $6,221 per month. Pay ranges: Lecturer A: $5,507 - $6,677 per month Lecturer B: $6,221 - $13,224 per month Lecturer C: $6,825 - $14,523 per month Lecturer D: $8,593 - $15,211 per month The CSU system offers a competitive total compensation benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, retirement, and tuition assistance. Background Check A background check (including a criminal records check) must be satisfactorily completed. Offers are conditional and may be rescinded if disqualifying information is found. Out-of-State Employment Faculty must establish an on-campus presence and are prohibited from performing CSU‑related work outside of California. Mandated Reporter The position holder is considered a mandated reporter under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and must comply with CSU requirements. International Candidates Cal Poly Pomona does not sponsor faculty for H‑1B work status under the current fee exemption. Faculty already in the U.S. with valid non‑immigrant visa may be considered for petition to change status.
