Lecturer – Finance, Real Estate, and Law Job no: 556919 Work type: Instructional Faculty – Temporary/Lecturer Location: Pomona Categories: Unit 3 – CFA – California Faculty Association, Temporary, Part Time, Faculty – Business/Management, On‑site (work in‑person at business location) The Department of Finance, Real Estate, and Law at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona invites applications for its Part‑Time Lecturer pool in Finance, Real Estate, or Business Law for part‑time teaching appointments. The temporary faculty pool is continuously open, and positions are filled as needed based on student enrollment and funding. Candidates may be required to begin teaching on short notice. Fall term begins late August – mid‑December; Spring term mid‑January – mid‑May; Summer sessions may also be available. Subject Areas: Personal Finance Corporate Finance Investment and Portfolio Management Financial Institutions and Markets International Finance Business Law Responsibilities Teach assigned division courses in the department’s curriculum and provide weekly office hours based on the teaching unit load. Provide academic support and guidance to students. Assignments may include day, evening, and/or weekend courses. Required Qualifications MBA, J.D., ABD, or Master’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, or related discipline relevant to the curriculum. Preferred Qualifications Ph.D. in Finance, Real Estate, or related discipline. Prior teaching experience at the college or university level and ability to furnish evidence of strong teaching. Industry experience in finance, real estate, or law. Currency in the field and scholarly publications. Experience integrating practical case studies or industry applications into the classroom. Salary and Benefits Initial rank and salary for lecturer faculty are based on professional experience and educational background and are determined by the hiring department. Initial appointments are for one semester. The full‑time (15 units per semester) monthly base salaries indicated above are prorated to the number of units worked and are paid in six monthly payments for each full semester. Initial appointments are at Lecturer A or B rank, beginning of the range, with a salary not to exceed $6,221 per month as of July 2024.
