Director of Housekeeping
AKA Hotels+Hotel Residences
- Forecast, schedule and assign housekeeping team members to complete the needed services for the day in the most efficient and organized manner.
- Perform daily inspections of all areas of the property including but not limited to guest rooms, the lobby, common areas and back of house to ensure brand standards of spotless cleanliness, consistency, standardization and meticulous attention to detail are implemented and experienced by both guests and team members.
- Perform detailed monthly asset walks, at minimum, of the overall property and suite conditions with team members and develop an improvement plan as required.
- Work collaboratively with the Director of Engineering to ensure a timeless appearance and life of all furniture, fixtures and equipment throughout all residences, lobby, common areas, amenities, front and back of house.
- Schedule detailed cleaning and preventive maintenance programs relating to housekeeping to ensure a timeless appearance and life of all furniture, fixtures and equipment throughout all residences, lobby, common areas, amenities and front / back of house.
- Assure the financial goals of the department are being met. Monitor and control labor expense and other departmental expenses such as uniforms, supplies and service contracts.
- Manage and maintain accurate inventory records such as linens, kitchen accessories, in-suite amenities, uniform and cleaning supplies. Manage par levels, discard reports, tools and the distribution of products.
- Manage and lead the housekeeping team members by providing structure, motivation, coaching, guidance and positive encouragement as necessary to ensure a quality level of service, professionalism and communication.
- Schedule and assign housekeeping team members to complete the needed services for the day in an organized manner. Verify quality and team member performance to assure that standards are being met, team members are being supported and guest needs are exceeded.
- Ensure the property is maintaining a safe working environment.
- Perform safety training for all team members working with equipment and cleaning chemicals utilizing the provided personal protective equipment. .
- Work directly with outside contracted companies to assure quality and timeliness of work regarding service contracts related to the maintenance of the property.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school degree or equivalent.
- Proficiency in English (written and oral) required; other language a plus
- Minimum of five (5) years of prior experience in a leadership role in hospitality with at least three (3) in Housekeeping
- Ability to be flexible with work schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft products to include word, excel and outlook
- Meticulous attention to detail, motivational skills, verbal communication skills, written communication skills and manageability.
- Ability to lift 30 lbs. of weight and able to push and pull up to 75 lbs. if needed
- Physically capable of standing and walking 90% of the work day
- Able to work with cleaning chemicals.
- Ability to communicate in other languages is an asset
- Possess a desire to learn
- Take accountability and ownership for work performance
- Demonstrated ability to manage conflict / resolution, stress and time management
