Production Manager

Job Overview Supervisor of Operations – responsible for supervising shop employees in a manufacturing and assembly environment. Plans and assigns work, coaches, develops, motivates employees, implements policies, and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures, and working conditions. Responsibilities Provide leadership and ensure effective employee relations; coach and develop employees; make employment decisions; resolve employee issues. Maintain effective workflow by monitoring process steps and control points, observing equipment, monitoring personnel and resources, studying methods, implementing cost reductions, developing reporting procedures, and facilitating corrections to malfunctions. Complete production plans by effectively scheduling and assigning personnel; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising plans; resolving problems; reporting results on shift production summaries. Drive continuous improvement in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Morale. Enforce organization standards and assist in revision or formation of new policies. Maintain a safe and clean work environment by educating workers on 5S, housekeeping, equipment preventative maintenance, and compliance with policies. Manage departmental performance measures, including visual controls, and provide regular progress reports to manager. Manage Non‑Conforming Material reports so material is dispositioned in a timely manner. Perform accident investigations and lead corrective actions. Report on inventory levels. Manage department priorities. Track absenteeism and timekeeping. Supervision Scope This position supervises all employees of the department and is responsible for the performance and efficiency of the employees within that department. Educational Requirements High School or GED Diploma required. 2‑year Associate’s Degree preferred with 5+ years in a supervisory role within a manufacturing environment. Working conditions may be dirty, extreme hot/cold temperatures, and loud noises. Travel required is 5% or less. Salary and Benefits Salary range: $85,000 – $95,000. Benefits include health, welfare, and retirement plans. An annual bonus may be available if eligible. Relocation may be offered to qualified candidates.
