Boston Scientific values collaboration and synergy. This role follows an onsite work model, requiring employees to be in our local office at least 5 days per week.

Our R&D engineers are tasked with designing and developing innovative, breakthrough next-generation medical devices that improve and extend the lives of patients around the world. Boston Scientific Interventional Oncology & Embolization (IO&E) is the market leader in therapeutics and tools for interventional radiologists, featuring Y90 microspheres, ablation devices, embolic devices and a selection of ancillary products.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Use your problem-solving abilities to perform meaningful engineering work.
• Grow your skillset through a combination of training, hands-on experience, and mentorship.
• Collaborate with a cross-functional team.
• Have opportunities to expand your professional network.
• Get exposure to what it is like working in a Fortune 500 medical device company.
• Design, fabricate, and prototype new device designs to address clinical feedback.
• Develop new and innovative test methods for in vitro device testing.
• Assist new product development teams in device development and testing.
• Research and analyze clinical and market data for new market opportunities.

Required qualifications:

• Must graduate between Fall 2027 and Spring 2028
• Currently pursuing a Bachelors or Graduate degree in Biomedical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
• Must be able to commit to one of the following full internship program periods: May 17th – August 6th OR May 24th – August 13th
• Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization
• Must have reliable transportation to and from the Maple Grove, MN (Arbor Lakes) Boston Scientific Corporate location

Preferred qualifications:

• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse cross-functional teams.
• Ability and passion to learn new technologies and find new solutions.
• Experience with single use devices or implants
• Experience with medical device design
• Experience with test method development

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
