Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 32-bed medical-surgical unit for adult and older adult populations, maintaining a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio.
- Monitor trauma patients and administer heparin drips and other acute medications as ordered; observe for adverse effects and respond to changes in condition.
- document comprehensive assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the EPIC EMR; ensure accurate medication administration and telemetry as applicable.
- Utilize unit equipment such as gait belts, geriatric chairs, and rehabilitation tools to support mobility, safety, and functional goals.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (PT/OT, rehab services, and physicians) to support care plans and ongoing patient education and discharge planning.
- Adhere to safety, infection control, and regulatory standards; participate in rounds and care coordination activities as assigned.

Requirements
- Documentation of med/telemetry experience; familiarity with acute medications on a med-surg/telemetry unit
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Proficiency with EPIC EMR or similar electronic medical record systems
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with adult and older adult populations; capable of following unit checklists and protocols
- Willingness to work 12-hour shifts and participate in the 2x3 Days shift pattern
- No RTO (time-off) requests permitted for this assignment
