Position: Alumni Outreach Manager Division: Development and Alumni Relations Office (DARO) Salary Range: $72,500 to $80,000 annually About Bank Street College Bank Street College of Education is a national leader in progressive education, committed to social justice, advocacy, and community engagement. The Development and Alumni Relations Office (DARO) supports the College's fundraising, alumni engagement, and volunteer initiatives across the Graduate School of Education, School for Children, Family Center, Liberty LEADS, and Education Center. Position Summary The Alumni Outreach Manager develops and implements programs, communications, events, and volunteer opportunities that strengthen engagement among current students, recent graduates, and alumni. This position serves as a key connector between students and alumni, helping to cultivate lifelong relationships with Bank Street while advancing institutional goals related to engagement, volunteerism, advocacy, and philanthropy. This role has a particular focus on current students and alumni within ten years of graduation and requires a strong combination of relationship‑building, event planning, communications, social media management, and data analysis skills. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Communications & Digital Engagement Develop and execute communications and social media strategies that promote alumni engagement, events, volunteer opportunities, and institutional initiatives. Create and manage content for newsletters, alumni spotlights, social media, videos, and other digital communications. Source alumni stories, career updates, and class notes for use across alumni and institutional communication channels. Manage alumni email inboxes and respond to inquiries, networking requests, and engagement opportunities. Monitor engagement metrics and recommend strategies to strengthen alumni participation and visibility. Student & Alumni Engagement Develop and implement programs that strengthen connections among students, recent graduates, and alumni. Create opportunities that foster lifelong engagement, volunteerism, advocacy, and future philanthropic support. Collaborate with campus partners to develop programming that supports student success and alumni engagement. Create and manage a Student Alumni Ambassadors Program and serve as liaison for student‑to‑alumni transition initiatives. Develop outreach strategies and resources that support recent graduates as they transition into their careers. Events & Volunteer Management Lead the planning and execution of student and young alumni programs, including networking events, reunions, and engagement activities. Manage all aspects of event logistics, communications, registration, vendor coordination, budgets, and post‑event evaluation. Recruit, train, and support student and alumni volunteers, including Class Delegates and other volunteer leaders. Serve as staff liaison to designated alumni committees and volunteer groups. Data, Reporting & Strategy Maintain accurate engagement records and constituent data within Raiser's Edge and related systems. Generate reports, conduct surveys, and analyze engagement metrics to assess program effectiveness and guide future strategies. Partner with DARO Operations to ensure constituent information remains current and accurate. Contribute to the development and implementation of alumni engagement strategies and collaborate with colleagues. General Responsibilities Support major alumni and institutional events, including Alumni Weekend, Bank Street Celebration, reunions, volunteer leadership meetings, and special events. Work collaboratively as a member of the Development and Alumni Relations Office. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree required. Three to five years of professional experience in alumni relations, student engagement, communications, event management, fundraising, higher education, nonprofit organizations, or a related field. Excellent written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Experience using social media platforms and digital communication tools for engagement and outreach. Ability to analyze data and use results to inform decision‑making and strategy. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, CRM/database systems, email marketing platforms, and related technology tools. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with students, alumni, volunteers, faculty, staff, and donors. Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends as required. Preferred Qualifications Experience in higher education, alumni relations, advancement, or nonprofit organizations. Experience using Raiser's Edge NXT or similar CRM platforms. Experience creating digital content using tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, iMovie, or similar applications.
