Position Job TitleInsurance Personal Lines Producer Job Description The Personal Lines Producer is responsible for driving new business growth through the development, quoting, presentation, and closing of Personal Lines insurance opportunities. The position develops strong relationships with First United Bank partners, existing clients, prospects, and other referral sources. The Producer is accountable for achieving established production goals, managing the new-business pipeline, providing consultative insurance solutions, and delivering a high-quality customer and referral-partner experience. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS) Quotes, presents, delivers, and sells Personal Lines new business opportunities. Meets or exceeds established monthly and annual new-business revenue, premium, policy-count, and/or activity goals. Develops strong working relationships with First United bankers, mortgage teams, and other internal referral partners. Responds promptly to incoming referrals and communicates the status and outcome of opportunities to referral partners. Maintains an accurate new-business pipeline and documents prospect activity, referral sources, quote status, outcomes, and follow-up activity in the designated CRM and/or agency management system. Proactively follows up on outstanding quotes and works to convert qualified opportunities into bound business. Identifies opportunities to round accounts with home, auto, umbrella, recreational vehicle, flood, and other appropriate Personal Lines products. Evaluates carrier options and recommends appropriate coverage based on exposures, coverage needs, underwriting eligibility, and carrier appetite. Educates prospects on coverage options and differences using a consultative sales approach rather than competing solely on price. Issues and sends Evidence of Insurance and completes policy issuance for new Personal Lines business. Handles underwriting issues and requirements associated with new-business policies. Ensures quotes, applications, documentation, disclosures, and policy issuance comply with carrier, agency, regulatory, and First United requirements. Ensures complete documentation and a smooth transition of newly bound accounts to the appropriate service team. Maintains and strengthens internal and external referral relationships. Some Travel may be required. EMPLOYEE SPECIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. High School Diploma or equivalent GED required. College degree preferred. Personal Lines insurance and industry knowledge preferred. Industry designation, or willingness to obtain a designation, preferred. Prior sales, insurance, banking-referral, or relationship-development experience preferred. TECHNICAL AND FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES Proficiency with PC operating systems and Microsoft Office. Experience with Applied Epic preferred. Knowledge and experience with carrier websites and comparative rating platforms. Ability to effectively use CRM and agency management systems to manage and document a new-business pipeline. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong relationship-building and consultative sales skills. Effective sales, presentation, negotiation, and closing skills. Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage a high-volume referral and prospect pipeline. Ability to analyze customer exposures and explain coverage options clearly. Demonstrated accountability for measurable sales and production goals. PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS Achieves established new-business production goals and activity expectations. Maintains timely follow-up and accurate pipeline documentation. Provides responsive service and communication to prospects and referral partners. Develops productive relationships with First United Bank and mortgage partners. Maintains appropriate documentation, compliance, and quality standards throughout the sales and binding process.
