Eaton’s North American Sales division is currently seeking a Senior Sales Engineer to join its team. This position is located in City of Industry, CA. This exciting opportunity provides the ability to sell assigned product lines and drive growth across targeted market areas while managing key customer and distributor relationships. As part of a high-performing team with ambitious goals, the role includes establishing and growing a book of accounts and leveraging strong channel partner relationships. The role offers direct impact on sales performance, market intelligence, and customer solutions.What you’ll do:The primary function of the Senior Sales Engineer is to sell assigned product lines to targeted customers in targeted market areas. This position will be responsible to achieve the assigned sales goal consistent with the expectations of a thoroughly seasoned professional sales engineer for the assigned product categories while under little supervision. It will be an expectation to optimize sales volume, product mix and profit margin, while increasing sales in the marketplace. This position will need to coordinate sales for the assigned customer and distributor base. It has the responsibility to manage all aspects of the customer relationship, providing sales and technical assistance with distributors, customers, end users, and specifiers.Making what matters work at Eaton takes the passion of every employee around the world. It’s where bold, bright professionals like you can reach your full potential—and where you can help us reach ours.In this function you will:Accurate and timely plan and specify interpretation, quotation and technical supportCommunicate with customers, warehouse, and plants to facilitate problem resolutionCollect, analyze and utilize market intelligence regarding competitive products, customer needs, preferences and buying habitsReview and interpret customer needs on plans and specificationsProvide facility timely solutions to customer issues by utilizing available resources or creating procedure for resolutionBe aware of and respond to market conditions and competitive activities while communicating such information to product divisionsPlan promotional events and presentations with distributor personnel to promote Eaton’s position, while developing a proven record of achieving assigned sales goalsPrepare and present bids and quotations to customers using company price and delivery guidelines while using sound business judgmentQualifications:Required (Basic) Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institutionMinimum three (3) years’ experience in a technical or commercial fieldPossess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver’s licenseNo relocation assistance will be provided for this role. Candidates must currently reside within 75 miles of City of Industry, CA. This means that Eaton will not support any CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT plans, F-1 to H-1B, H-1B cap registration, O-1, E-3, TN status, I-485 job portability, etc.Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical EngineeringSkills:Knowledge of key customers within sales territoriesTime management, presentation, and planning skillsCommand’s knowledge of Eaton electrical product and service capabilities and can assemble standard offerings to meet customer needs with occasional internal oversightPossesses an understanding of the sales process using sales techniques as evidenced by good customer relationshipsSkilled in Bidmanager and VistaDemonstrated and understanding of market trends, industry issues and knowledge of competitorsEffective interpersonal and teamwork skillsAbility to leverage support personnel to meet customer and organizational needsAbility to travel up to 10%All positions may require participation in video and in-person interviews as part of the hiring process.
