This role supports CRST's Flatbed Solutions team, which serves customers through a nationwide network of agents, independent contractors and transportation professionals. Within Flatbed Solutions, this position specifically supports the Government Services team, which manages transportation services for government customers, including Department of Defense-related freight that requires a high level of accuracy, compliance and documentation.

The Opportunity
This role supports the Government Services team and is responsible for making sure freight invoices are accurate, compliant and submitted on time. You'll prepare, audit and process billing for government transportation contracts while working closely with operations teams, customers and government payment platforms. If you enjoy working with numbers, catching discrepancies and owning a process from start to finish, this role has a direct impact on customer service, contract compliance and the financial performance of the business.

What You'll Do

• Prepare, audit and submit freight invoices supporting government transportation contracts
• Review shipment records, charges and supporting documentation to ensure billing accuracy
• Serve as a liaison between operations teams, customers and government payment platforms
• Research and resolve billing discrepancies, rejected invoices and payment issues
• Reconcile shipment information and supporting documentation to maintain accurate records
• Support Government Services billing activity and assist with other billing functions as needed
• Maintain detailed billing records and audit documentation
• Monitor invoice status and follow up on issues impacting payment processing
• Prepare reports and account updates related to billing activity
• Identify opportunities to improve billing accuracy, consistency and efficiency

What You Bring

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in billing, accounts receivable, accounting support, reconciliations or related financial processes
• Understanding of debits, credits and basic accounting principles
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify discrepancies, errors and missing information
• Experience using Microsoft Excel and business software applications
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and internal teams
• Experience working in transportation, logistics or another high-volume operational environment
• Ability to manage a workload of approximately 200-300 loads while maintaining accuracy and quality
• Ability to work independently, take initiative and proactively address issues as they arise

Going the Extra Mile

• Associate degree in accounting, finance, business or a related field
• Experience supporting government transportation programs or government contract billing
• Experience using Syncada or similar government payment platforms
• Experience with transportation management systems, accounting systems or ERP platforms
• Experience researching invoice exceptions, payment disputes or reconciliation issues
• Experience supporting Department of Defense or other government transportation customers
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense security clearance if required in the future
