Clinical Application Support Analyst in Medical Records

Position Summary We are looking for a Clinical Application Support Specialist to work with our Medical Records team. This role will handle issues related to identity, chart corrections, chart reviews, compliance, and vendor and hospital partner relationships. It also involves assisting patients directly with some of these issues. The specialist will provide end‑user support for the Practice Management System (PM), Electronic Health Record (EHR), and ancillary systems. Our practice currently uses EPIC, so exposure to that software is preferred. Responsibilities include using the reporting system to document and assign customer issues, troubleshooting, testing, and resolving reported system issues with senior analysts, and interfacing internally with compliance and revenue cycle teams. A strong background in clinical technology and an understanding of patient workflows are required. The position is on‑site. Participates in selected PM and EHR full life‑cycle system deployments as assigned. Assists customers/healthcare personnel with basic system requests. Solicits feedback and guidance on best practices from senior department team members, assisting with process development. Assists in the resolution of reported issues while working with senior team members and healthcare providers. Analyzes and reports to senior team members workflow adherence by customers during on‑site clinic visits. Other duties as assigned. Certification / Skills Good analytical and problem‑solving skills; working knowledge of MS Office products; good computing, analytical, and organizational skills. Minimum Education Bachelor’s degree required. Preferred Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field; or relevant experience in lieu of education. Minimum Experience At least two years of experience in clinical applications support, preferably with Epic, and experience in a clinical setting (inpatient or outpatient). Physical Requirements Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects. Security Sensitive This position is a security‑sensitive position pursuant to Texas Education Code 51.215, Texas Government Code 411.094, and Texas Business and Commerce Code 117.001(2). The holder must maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure and may be reviewed to determine suitability regarding criminal history or connections to foreign adversaries as defined in 15 C.F.R. The position may require research, work on, or access to critical infrastructure as defined in Texas Government Code 791.4.
