Luxury Client Relationships: This role provides an engaging setting to build lasting relationships with private collectors and clients, introducing them to our collections through private appointments, direct selling showcases, and intimate showroom events. Multi-Faceted Contribution: In a small team, your work naturally touches more than transactions. You will have real input on merchandising displays, client outreach initiatives, and overall showroom momentum. Role Overview Fernando Jorge is seeking an experienced, proactive, and commercially driven Retail Sales Manager to lead private client acquisition, direct sales, and showroom operations at our Chelsea Showroom in New York City. This is not a conventional retail store position. We operate an agile studio, and sales are driven through proactive outreach, private appointments, and events rather than relying on walk-in traffic. We are looking for an adaptable, self-motivated professional with a strong sales background in fine jewelry, luxury, or art. The ideal candidate knows how to sell creatively, guide client interest, and work cross-functionally with production, operations, marketing, and global colleagues to build the business. Key Responsibilities Direct Client Development & Sales: Nurture and expand direct client relationships through outreach, bespoke showroom-based appointments, private salons, and curated events. Order Processing & Fulfillment Administration: Oversee end-to-end sales administration: create invoices, process payments, route orders through internal channels, track production timelines, and liaise internally and externally on deliveries. High-Touch After-Sales Care: Manage after-sales service and follow-up—including repairs, resizing, and custom requests—maintaining proactive client communication to build lasting brand loyalty and satisfaction. External Selling & Off-Site Events: Plan and attend direct selling shows, salon showcases, and client appointments outside of the showroom when required. Client Relationship Management & Follow-up: Use the CRM platform to track client history, aesthetic preferences, and milestone dates, leveraging data to deliver personalized outreach and tailored client experiences. Strategic Commercial Planning: Partner with the Commercial Director to set and implement sales targets, showroom stock plans, and merchandise management strategies, executing business plans to achieve commercial goals. Marketing & Showroom Alignment: Collaborate with the marketing department to drive showroom visibility and regional brand awareness, ensuring all in-showroom touchpoints align with brand messaging and a cohesive client journey. Negotiation & Strategic Sourcing: Apply strong negotiation skills and strategic mindset to handle complex business discussions, independently exploring and developing new sales opportunities through an established network of regional clients and resources. Candidate Profile & Qualifications Sales Drive & Luxury Experience: Proven background driving revenue and building client relationships in fine jewelry, luxury retail, or art. Adaptability Beyond Standard Retail Floors: Comfortable in a lean, boutique studio setting where daily priorities shift, bringing versatility and self-direction. Cross-Functional Communication: Clear, effective interpersonal skills across every level. Able to guide clients through custom requests or repairs with tact, while coordinating efficiently with production, operations, and marketing teams. Resourceful Commercial Approach: Confident in navigating fluid stock environments where pieces are shared across international locations, finding creative ways to maintain client engagement and close sales. Visual & Showroom Awareness: An instinctive sense of space, product staging, and daily showroom upkeep to ensure the Chelsea environment feels inviting and representative of the collection. Dependability & Team Alignment: Detail-oriented, organized, and collaborative, with a steady, solution-focused attitude. Benefits & Compensation Base Salary Range: The base salary for this position is $110,000 – $150,000 annually. Placement within this band is based on experience and sales background, with most new hires in this role starting in the $110,000 – $120,000 range. Incentive Compensation: As a primary client-facing sales position, total earnings will also include sales commission beyond the base salary listed above.
