An award-winning, chef-driven Italian restaurant in the heart of SoHo is seeking an experienced and inspiring General Manager to lead one of New York City's most respected dining destinations. This established restaurant has earned national recognition for its refined yet approachable cuisine, exceptional wine program, and genuine hospitality. The ideal candidate is a passionate hospitality leader who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while maintaining an unwavering commitment to service excellence, team development, and operational performance.

This role requires a highly visible leader who can inspire and mentor a high-performing front-of-house team, partner closely with culinary leadership, and create memorable guest experiences through consistency, accountability, and a culture of hospitality.

Key Responsibilities:

Operations & Leadership

• Oversee all front-of-house operations while partnering closely with the Executive Chef and culinary leadership.
• Lead by example, fostering a culture of hospitality, professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Maintain exceptional standards of service, food quality, beverage execution, cleanliness, and overall guest experience.
• Ensure seamless execution of lunch, dinner, and private dining service while remaining highly engaged on the floor.
• Monitor financial performance, labor costs, and controllable expenses to achieve operational and profitability goals.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, guest satisfaction, and overall restaurant performance.

Team Development

• Recruit, hire, onboard, and develop a best-in-class front-of-house team.
• Coach and mentor managers and hourly employees through regular feedback and performance development.
• Establish clear service expectations while providing ongoing training in hospitality, leadership, wine, and guest engagement.
• Foster an environment where employees feel supported, respected, and empowered to grow professionally.
• Partner with Human Resources to ensure compliance with company policies and employment best practices.

Guest Experience

• Lead with genuine hospitality and build lasting relationships with guests.
• Resolve guest concerns professionally and proactively.
• Continuously evaluate every aspect of the guest experience to ensure exceptional hospitality standards.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience as a General Manager or senior restaurant leader within an upscale or fine dining environment.
• Strong financial acumen including labor management, forecasting, budgeting, and cost controls.
• Demonstrated success developing high-performing management teams.
• Exceptional communication, coaching, and leadership skills.
• Calm, decisive, and solutions-oriented under pressure.
• Passion for hospitality, food, wine, and delivering unforgettable guest experiences.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
