Grant AccountantLaSalle Network is partnering with our client to hire a Grant Accountant in Dolton, Illinois. This contract-to-hire Grant Accountant opportunity is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment and enjoys owning key accounting processes while supporting leadership reporting and compliance needs. As the Grant Accountant, you'll play a central role in month-end close, reconciliations, and grant-related reporting, with visibility to senior stakeholders and opportunities to contribute to process improvements.ResponsibilitiesPrepare and post journal entries to the general ledger accurately and on timePerform monthly account reconciliations, including balance sheet accounts, grants, payroll, benefits, prepaid expenses, accruals, and other key accountsAssist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processesPrepare internal financial reports, schedules, and analyses for leadershipSupport budget development, budget-to-actual analysis, and forecastingMonitor grant-related revenues and expenses to ensure proper accounting and compliance with grant restrictionsAssist with preparation of financial reports for federal, state, and private grantsSupport audit preparation and respond to auditor requests for schedules, documentation, and analysesMaintain internal controls and assist with process improvements to strengthen financial accuracy and efficiencyReview coding and support proper classification of expenses and revenuesAssist with payroll-related accounting, benefits reconciliations, and accruals as neededHelp ensure compliance with GAAP, nonprofit accounting standards, and FQHC-related reporting requirementsCollaborate with program, operations, and leadership teams to support financial decision-makingPerform other accounting and finance duties as assignedQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related fieldMinimum of 3 to 5 years of progressive accounting experienceGrant accounting experience (3–5 years)Experience in nonprofit, healthcare, FQHC, or grant-funded accounting preferredStrong knowledge of GAAP and general ledger accountingExperience with account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reportingProficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting softwareExperience with Sage IntacctStrong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlinesAudit support experience preferredCPA or CPA track preferredKey DetailsEmployment Type: Contract-to-HireCompensation: $40-48 per hourBenefits (Contract): LaSalle Network consultants are eligible to enroll in benefits.
