Accounts Payable Clerk

SME Industries, Inc. is seeking high-potential Accounts Payable Clerks to join our team in West Jordan, UT. This role will be a key member of the accounting team, responsible for a broad range of AP activities. These roles are based in West Jordan, UT. and have an in-office work arrangement.

Key Responsibilities: Provide accounting and clerical support to the accounting department Type accurately, prepare and maintain accounting documents and records Reconcile statements in a timely manner Daily enter key data of financial transactions in accounting systems Aid and support to company personnel Research, track and restore documentation discrepancies Inform management and compile reports/summaries on activity areas Function in accordance with established standards, procedures and applicable laws Constantly update job knowledge Perform other duties as required Basic Qualifications: Proven experience, preferably as an Accounts Payable rep. High school degree as a minimum qualification, relevant certifications and/or degree in accounting or finance preferred Familiarity with bookkeeping and GAAP procedures Competency in Excel and hands‑on experience with spreadsheets Competency in MS Office, databases and accounting software, such as TimberScan and Sage 300 CRE, and the Trimble suite Accuracy and attention to detail Aptitude for numbers Ability to perform filing and record keeping tasks Data entry and word processing skills Well‑organized with the ability to condense complex information into a digestible format Honesty and accountability Position Responsibilities: This job posting reflects the current assignment of essential functions and is not meant to be all-inclusive.
