Paralegal - Immigration Legal Services

For over 75 years, Catholic Family and Community Services, has provided at little or no cost, a full spectrum of services to individuals who are oppressed, families who are in crisis and communities who are disenfranchised. Located throughout the New Jersey Counties of Passaic, Morris and Sussex, we provide professionally based social services, including Behavioral Health Programs, Veterans Services, Children’s Programs, Senior and Aging Services and much more. Schedule per week Part Time 28 Hours - Monday - Friday between the hours of 9:00am - 3:00pm. (Flexibility Required) Location Paterson, NJ Job Summary Works under supervision of experienced attorney. Must function independently in servicing our clients of limited means with their immigration petitions and problems, including: Adjustments of Status, I-485 Form; Employment Authorizations, I-765; Renewal/ Replacement of LPR Cards, I-90; DACA Renewals, I-821-D; and Support to attorney for Removal Proceedings appearances in Immigration Court Extensive client contact, eliciting of facts for sworn statements, obtaining details for the preparation of above-mentioned, and other, USCIS (ie, immigration agency) forms. Dedication to public service and Legal Services for persons of finite means and equity in implementation immigration law and policies Organization Sponsorship for representative accreditation possible Qualifications Paralegal with 1-2 years legal or office experience Bilingual, Spanish fluency heavily preferred Well organized and flexible Strong interpersonal skills Dedication to public service and Legal Services for persons of limited means and equity in implementation of immigration law and policies. Open to training for a person interested in pursuing legal career, criminal justice or professional social worker employment.
