Service Writer Position: Service Writer Position Type: Full-Time Location: Commerce City, CO Salary: $25.00/HR - $30.00/HR Schedule: Monday-Friday | Full-Time | In-Office About the Position: Specialized Recruiting Group is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Service Writer to join a respected heavy equipment company in Commerce City. This position serves as the primary liaison between customers and the service department, ensuring repair orders are accurately documented, service work is efficiently coordinated, and customers receive timely communication throughout the repair process. Job Responsibilities: Prepare, monitor, review, and assist with closing service work orders. Determine equipment warranty eligibility and communicate warranty status to customers prior to service being performed. Coordinate with the Service Manager to ensure repairs are completed within quoted or estimated labor hours. Verify customer authorizations are obtained before work begins and ensure required signatures are collected when necessary. Review completed work orders and compare final invoices with original service proposals to ensure customer expectations have been met. Assist with the daily administrative operations of the Service Department. Maintain accurate service records and documentation. Communicate effectively with customers, technicians, and internal team members throughout the repair process. Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Related industry experience may be substituted for formal education. Previous experience as a Service Writer, Service Advisor, Service Coordinator, or in a heavy equipment, construction equipment, agricultural equipment, trucking, automotive, or industrial service environment preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel. Strong mathematical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and communication skills. Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently. Physical Requirements: Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer and answering phones. Frequent communication by phone and in person. Ability to read computer screens, paperwork, and service documentation. Occasional walking throughout the facility, including uneven surfaces. Ability to stand, bend, reach, and file documents as needed throughout the workday.
