Job Overview A law firm seeks a Land Use and Government Advice Attorney in San Francisco, CA. The ideal candidate will have at least six years of experience in municipal law, with expertise in housing, land use, and the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). This role involves representing public agencies across the Bay Area and California. Responsibilities Serve as the principal contact for public entity and nonprofit clients. Communicate clearly and efficiently with government and non‑profit clients. Regularly staff public meetings. Supervise legal professionals and office staff. Pursue business development and marketing opportunities. Requirements Six to ten years of legal experience, preferably as lead attorney on client engagements. Strong written and oral communication skills, with excellent research and analytical abilities. Commitment to public interest legal practice and/or serving the public sector. Expertise in housing and land use law, including CEQA. Foundation in general government law, including the Brown Act, the Public Records Act, and the Political Reform Act. Interest in developing as an attorney and leader, including management of associates and staff. Education Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Certifications Active membership in the California State Bar. Skills Ability to multi‑task across a range of clients. Self‑motivated and diligent work ethic.
