Title: Senior Tax Accountant

Role Overview

A growing public accounting firm is seeking an experienced tax professional to support a diverse client base of individuals, partnerships, corporations, and closely held businesses. This role offers exposure to complex tax compliance, planning, and advisory projects, while providing opportunities to work directly with clients and senior leadership on strategic tax matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and other business entities
• Perform tax research and analysis to ensure compliance with current tax laws and regulations
• Prepare and review tax provisions, book-to-tax adjustments, and supporting tax workpapers
• Assist with entity-level tax planning, elections, and transaction-related tax matters
• Analyze partnership and corporate tax basis schedules and maintain related tax records
• Support multi-state tax compliance, including apportionment calculations, nexus reviews, and state filing requirements
• Prepare and review depreciation schedules and fixed asset tax reporting
• Assist with year-end tax projections, estimated tax calculations, and proactive tax planning strategies
• .Research and resolve federal and state tax notices, audit inquiries, and other tax-related correspondence
• Identify tax-saving opportunities and provide value-added recommendations to clients and management
• Collaborate with clients and internal teams to gather information, resolve issues, and ensure timely completion of engagements
• Utilize tax software and technology tools to improve efficiency, accuracy, and workflow management
• Support special projects involving tax compliance, entity structuring, transactions, and advisory services

Qualification

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Taxation, Finance, or related fields
• CPA or progress toward CPA preferred
• Strong knowledge of federal and state taxation for individuals, partnerships, and corporations
• Experience with multi-state tax compliance and tax planning concepts
• Understanding of partnership taxation, entity structures, and tax basis calculations
• Familiarity with depreciation methods, tax elections, and complex tax transactions
• Experience responding to tax notices, audits, and regulatory inquiries
• Proficiency with tax preparation software and Microsoft Excel
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and client service abilities
• Ability to manage multiple engagements and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
