Machinist – Manual Lathe / Milling / Grinding
Sacramento, CA | $25–$35/hr. | 1st Shift

A leading manufacturing facility in Sacramento is seeking an experienced Machinist with strong hands-on experience operating manual lathes, milling machines, and grinders. This position is ideal for a skilled machinist who can independently set up and operate traditional machining equipment and produce precision parts to specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate manual lathes, milling machines, and grinding equipment
• Set up machines and select appropriate tooling for machining operations
• Machine and fabricate precision parts according to specifications
• Grind dies and components to required dimensions and tolerances
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and measurements
• Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges
• Perform basic calculations and measurements to ensure accuracy
• Inspect finished parts and make necessary adjustments
• Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and production issues
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area
• Follow all safety procedures and manufacturing standards

Required Qualifications:

• 3–5+ years of hands-on machining experience
• MUST have manual lathe experience
• MUST have manual milling machine experience
• MUST have grinding experience
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment and machining issues
• Ability to read blueprints and work from precise specifications
• Experience using precision measuring tools
• Strong understanding of machining tolerances and dimensions
• CNC experience is a plus, but this position is primarily focused on manual machining
• Manufacturing, industrial, tool & die, or similar machining background preferred
• Ability to lift 50–75 lbs. and stand for extended periods
