Job Summary The Radiology Manager is responsible for the supervision of the Imaging department. The manager assesses, coordinates, implements, evaluates, and disciplines employees according to the general personnel policies of BHS. The manager will identify studies and assist in problem resolution related to the department, manage staff assignments, complete established competencies within the designated introductory period, and perform all other duties as assigned. Responsibilities General Management: Assist in establishing goals and objectives that support overall strategic plans of the facility/Baptist Health System. Recommend and monitor the annual department operating and capital budgets. Manage daily operations of assigned department(s). Manage performance of staff. Demonstrate objectivity in decision making, utilizing facts to support decisions. Support the mission statement, policies, and procedures of the Baptist Health System. Eliminate boundaries to achieve integrated, efficient, and quality service. Achieve ongoing compliance with all regulatory agencies. Serve as a resource to employees and customers as demonstrated by visibility and knowledge of issues. Demonstrate flexibility in response to change. Anticipate and respond to problems and risks. Communicate effectively with all levels in the organization and with inter‑/external customers. People Management: Select or assist in selection of personnel for hire and promotion; take appropriate actions regarding counseling, disciplinary actions, demotion and termination. Manage, support, and coach direct reports. Respond proactively to employee needs and concerns. Recognize experts and expertise throughout the department and seek employee input. Facilitate consensus among divergent groups. Minimize staff turnover. Recognize employees’ strengths and accomplishments. Evaluate or assist in evaluating assigned staff performance and competency, providing direct feedback. Assist in development of competency plans and provide opportunities for learning. Department/Business Unit Management: Assist in the development and interpretation of department policies and procedures. Provide professional and technical guidance and confer with medical staff as appropriate. Maintain documentation and prepare reports of departmental activities. Assure availability and functioning of supplies and equipment. Implement protective measures to prevent patient injury due to thermal, electrical, mechanical, laser, chemical and radiation sources. Utilize resources efficiently and effectively. Maintain a safe environment. Address patient population‑specific needs. Participate in performance improvement activities. Qualifications Minimum Education: Graduate of an accredited/approved Radiology or Nuclear Medicine Program and AAS from an accredited school or university. Preferred Education: Bachelor’s degree. Minimum Experience: 7 years technical experience, 5 years at a supervisory level. Preferred Experience: 2 years as a Senior Tech or 1 year as a coordinator in Imaging. Required Certifications/Licensure: Current Texas Medical Board (TMB) license. Registered by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) or equivalent, depending on specialty. Preferred Certifications/Licensure: Multi‑modality licensure in radiological specialties. Required Courses/Completions: Must have active healthcare provider Basic Life Support on hire (ARC or AHA); must have AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire.
