About the Role
Matz Injury Law is a plaintiff personal injury law firm in Southfield, Michigan. We are seeking a detail-oriented Paralegal/Legal Assistant to join our team. This is a full-time, in-office position supporting attorneys with all aspects of personal injury case management, from intake through resolution.
Responsibilities
• Manage case files and maintain organized client records
• Communicate with clients and medical providers
• Draft correspondence, demand letters, and legal documents
• Request and track medical records, bills, and other documentation
• Assist attorneys with discovery, depositions, and trial preparation
• Calendar deadlines and monitor case status
• Perform other administrative and legal support duties as needed
• Answering the phone and directing calls
Requirements
• Prior experience working in a law firm setting
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple case files and deadlines simultaneously
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with case management software a plus
• Ability to work full-time, in person at our Southfield, MI office
Preferred (Not Required)
• Prior experience specifically in personal injury/plaintiff-side litigation
• Familiarity with medical terminology
• Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply
