This full-time exempt position includes the following responsibilities: Recruitment Onboarding/Offboarding GMi Culture Ambassador Office Management Marketing & Promotions Perform other duties as assigned by Executive Management Maintain the highest level of confidentiality, ethics and integrity and adhere to GMi’s policies Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience in a People/Business role Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar support role. Effective communication capabilities, both written and verbal. Team player capable of working within an assigned team and with other GMi teams. Quick learner with the ability to learn on the job. Ability to effectively prioritize changing workloads. Ability to follow through tasks/projects Dependability – the ability to meet deadlines. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Efficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word. Accountability The Director of People & Culture reports to the VP of People and Culture. Responsibilities General Requirements Maintain and build relationships with GMi personnel, namely all Management. Must have a team attitude and be able to contribute to team goals. Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. People Recruiting: recruit salaried personnel, including job postings, resume review, interviews, and offers; run point and attend career fairs closest to specified market. Onboard all salaried employees in the specified market (Pre-hire, hiring day, and post-hire) Offboard all employees and conduct exit interviews for all salaried personnel. Review onboarding documents for accuracy. Manage the Chaplain program for the specified market. Order business cards and name tags for office personnel. Process and maintain employee documents, such as scanning employee documents to the electronic employee record in Vista. Coach and support managers in employee relations, performance conversations, communication challenges, recognition morale concerns and other people-related situations. Monitor tardiness and absenteeism reports to ensure proper documentation is issued for employees with excessive tardiness or absenteeism. Benefits expert: be able to teach & sell all GMi benefits to employees (401k, PTO, Tool Program, GMi Swag Store, Health Insurance, ESOP, etc.) Attend GMi events/functions (e.g., safety meetings, top-out parties, field appreciation, award banquets, luncheons, client functions, anniversary parties, Christmas parties, Future Leaders meetings/functions, 1 PM meeting a month, etc.) Coordinate and participate in employee performance reviews with managers; help identify development opportunities, career interest, performance concerns and appropriate follow up actions. Maintain awareness of employee career interests, strengths, development needs and readiness for additional responsibility, and communicate relevant observations to managers and People & Culture leadership. Identify recurring training or development needs through employee and manager conversations and elevate those themes to leadership for consideration. Support managers in conducting meaningful career and development conversations with employees when appropriate. Participate in employee coaching, performance, recognition, disciplinary, career, and other important workplace discussions alongside managers when People & Culture involvement is appropriate. Process terminations & warnings Employee recognition & condolences (birthday, birth of child, wedding, core value all-stars, funeral, medical, etc.), including cards, flowers, care packages & gifts. Culture Maintain a strong understanding of employee morale, engagement, workload concerns, interpersonal challenges, job satisfaction, and overall office sentiment through regular interactions with employees and managers. Identify emerging employee concerns, dissatisfaction, performance issues, or retention risks early and elevator those concerns to the appropriate manager and People & Culture leadership before they become larger problems. Serve as an approachable and trusted People & Culture resource for employees while maintaining appropriate confidentiality, judgement and alignments with company leadership. Know the interworking, protocols, and procedures of all departments, teams, and loads, and who is involved in each project in the specified market. Marketing & Promotions Promotional closet: keep the materials stocked and manage the budget. Manage the GMi Swag store for the specified market (orders and assist with the catalog) Awards & recognition: compile, review, and submit applications for industry awards while ensuring brand standards. Build relationships with contractors, architects, engineers, and associations. Event management: organize all events with attention to detail while ensuring to maintain the GMi brand; assist other departments in planning company events such as retreats and parties. Engage staff in promotional and marketing initiatives to strengthen culture. Office Management Ensure all utility contracts are up to date; negotiate before signing renewal Point person for building vendors; negotiate contracts and seek new service providers when needed Maintain office maps (floor plans and parking maps) Office supply management (order and manage budget) Grocery management (order and manage budget) Monitor the budget for the specified area and discuss forecast changes with the manager. Ensure the office is clean, organized, and orderly. Oversee all office maintenance, ensuring the office is fully functional and service is scheduled when needed. Point person for office access, keys, alarms, and parking for the specified market. Receive mail, fax, & packages, sort, document, and notify the appropriate recipient. Prepare FedEx shipments & certified mail for office staff, as needed. Office furniture and décor Travel arrangements for employees in the specified market Miscellaneous errands as needed/requested for management. Working Conditions and Physical Effort Work Environment General office setting Physical Demands Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day. Travel Will travel often within the specified market and occasionally to other markets. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Days of work are Monday through Friday.
