Trademark Paralegal

A growing and well-established intellectual property boutique law firm is seeking a Trademark Paralegal to join its Chicago team. This is an excellent opportunity to work directly with experienced IP attorneys and shareholders while supporting a sophisticated domestic and international trademark practice.

This firm is known for its strong culture, low turnover, and long-tenured team. With a focus exclusively on intellectual property matters, you'll gain specialized experience in trademarks, patents, copyrights, and related IP matters.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, file, and maintain U.S. trademark applications and related USPTO filings
• Support domestic and international trademark prosecution matters
• Prepare trademark renewals, declarations, assignments, and post-registration filings
• Monitor trademark docketing systems and maintain critical deadlines
• Review USPTO correspondence and assist with responses
• Coordinate international filings and communications with foreign counsel
• Conduct trademark searches and prepare portfolio reports
• Maintain trademark records and case files
• Assist with TTAB-related opposition, cancellation, and enforcement matters
• Support trademark billing, reporting, and related administrative functions

Qualifications

• 2-5+ years of trademark prosecution experience
• Strong knowledge of USPTO procedures and trademark filing requirements
• Experience managing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Experience with trademark docketing systems and IP management software preferred
• Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills
• Paralegal certificate, associate degree, or bachelor's degree preferred
