AI Solution Engineer

Job Title AI Solution Engineer Location Chicago, IL Remote Company Cayuse Responsibilities Efficiency Discovery & Opportunity Mapping: Conduct structured assessments across business units to identify workflows where AI can deliver time and cost savings. AI Solution Design & Prototyping: Architect and build AI-powered solutions (LLM integrations, intelligent automation, ML-assisted workflows) from concept through production. Cross-Functional Stakeholder Partnership: Act as technical bridge between business stakeholders, product management, and engineering teams. Implementation & Delivery: Own end-to-end delivery of AI solutions, including integration with existing systems, API design, prompt engineering, and monitoring. AI Enablement & Internal Capability Building: Develop internal tooling, documentation, and training for non-technical teams. AI Governance & Responsible Deployment: Define and enforce standards for responsible AI deployment, including data privacy, bias mitigation, and compliance. Qualifications Core Experience 5+ years in software engineering, data science, or related technical discipline with production system experience. 2+ years of hands‑on experience with AI/ML solutions (LLM-based applications, intelligent automation, or ML-assisted workflows). Experience in process or workflow assessments for automation/AI opportunities. BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent. Technical Expertise AI & LLM Development: Hands‑on with LLM APIs (Claude, OpenAI, Gemini), prompt engineering, RAG architectures, and agent frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex). Cloud & Infrastructure: Proficiency with AWS (serverless, SageMaker, Bedrock) and Infrastructure as Code. Software Engineering: Strong in Python and/or Java; experience with APIs, data pipelines, and AI integration. Data & Analytics: SQL and NoSQL databases, data wrangling, and evaluation frameworks. Leadership & Communication Ability to engage stakeholders to surface workflow inefficiencies and translate into deliverable AI initiatives. Strong written/verbal communication; present technical solutions and ROI to executive and product audiences. Pragmatic, outcome‑oriented mindset; comfortable navigating ambiguity.
