Role: Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Location: Sanford, FL 32771
Setting: 221-Bed Acute Care Hospital | Level II Trauma Center
Job Type: Permanent / Full-Time
Schedule: Nights | Rotating Weekends

Position Summary:
This Respiratory Therapist role provides comprehensive respiratory care in a 221-bed acute-care hospital and Level II Trauma Center. The RT will manage patients requiring oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, airway support, and invasive/noninvasive mechanical ventilation. The position also includes emergency response, ventilator transport, and opportunities to build skills in vascular access.

Position Overview:

• Perform respiratory assessments, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
• Conduct diagnostic procedures and evaluate patients' response to respiratory therapy.
• Administer oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and chest physiotherapy.
• Assist with artificial airway placement and maintain mechanical ventilation.
• Monitor therapeutic response and intervene when necessary.
• Transport ventilator-dependent patients safely.
• Respond to emergency situations and support airway management during resuscitation.

Requirements:

• Minimum 6 months of recent acute-care RRT experience required.
• CRT experience may be considered.
• NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist credential required.
• State Registered Respiratory Therapist license required.
• Associate degree or equivalent completion of a 2-year AMA-approved respiratory care program.
• BLS/BCLS required within 30 days of employment.
• ACLS required within 6 months.
• PALS required within 6 months.
• NRP required within 6 months.

Compensation:

• Starting: $28/hr- $40/hr
• Night Differential: +$4.50/hr
• Weekend Differential: +$3/hr

Relocation:
Case by case.

Candidate Fit:
Strong fit for an RRT or CRT with recent acute-care experience, mechanical ventilation skills, and the ability to respond effectively to critical and emergent respiratory situations.
