Director, Finance and Strategy

We’re recruiting a Director, Finance for a fast-growing company in Dallas seeking a hands-on finance leader to own the annual budgeting process, strengthen forecasting discipline, and rebuild the company’s enterprise financial model.Location: Dallas, TX or New York, NYSalary: $175k-$250k + bonusResponsibilities:Own the long-range planning and annual budgeting process from initial kickoff through final Board presentation, establishing clear timelines, milestones, and deliverables.Partner with Corporate Strategy and finance leaders across the organization to translate top-down revenue and margin targets into detailed functional budgets, operating plans, and staffing requirements.Lead the redesign and rebuild of the enterprise forecasting model, with a particular focus on strengthening revenue forecasting and incorporating key business drivers.Build a durable, scalable financial model that produces consistent, decision-ready outputs and reduces reliance on manual or one-off adjustments.Establish standardized forecasting methodologies, processes, and best practices across the Finance & Strategy organization.Improve forecasting accuracy and process discipline by developing repeatable frameworks that enable the broader team to operate with greater independence.Manage and develop a small finance team by setting priorities, reviewing work product, providing coaching, and ensuring the financial model remains accurate and current between planning cycles.Present budget recommendations, forecasting outputs, and financial methodologies to the CFO and executive leadership team.Continuously identify opportunities to improve financial planning, reporting, modeling, and workflows through technology, automation, and AI.Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field.8+ years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, investment banking, or a similar financial planning role.At least 2 years of direct ownership of an annual budgeting or forecasting process from start to finish.Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills, including the ability to build and restructure three-statement financial models.Proven experience translating high-level revenue growth and margin targets into detailed, bottoms-up operating and functional plans.Strong understanding of financial planning, forecasting methodologies, business drivers, and financial modeling best practices.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly to senior executives.Prior people management experience or demonstrated readiness to manage and develop direct reports.Experience with financial systems such as NetSuite and reporting/analytics platforms such as Power BI.Experience in a high-growth or private equity-backed environment is a plus.Experience leveraging AI tools such as Claude to improve financial workflows and productivity is a plus.The Solomon Page Distinction Our teams, comprised of subject matter experts, develop an interest in your preferences and goals and we act as an advisor for your career advancement.
