Payroll Assistant

Position: Full-time, Payroll Assistant Location: Honolulu Industry: Healthcare Schedule: Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM Pay: $26.00 – $32.00 (depends on experience) In-state candidates only Benefits: Weekly Pay Medical/Dental/Vision/Prescription Free Online Skill Classes, EAP, Discounts & many more We’re seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Assistant to support payroll operations for a large healthcare organization in Honolulu. This role is responsible for assisting with payroll processing, researching payroll-related issues, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws, policies, and collective bargaining agreements. Job Duties: Assist in the execution of payroll processing functions in a timely and accurate manner. Investigate, research, and resolve employee payroll inquiries. Review and process payroll transactions related to compensation and timekeeping. Support payroll activities involving collective bargaining agreements and pay practices. Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and organizational policies. Collaborate with Human Resources and other departments regarding payroll and attendance matters. Perform data entry, audits, and reporting as needed. #RemedyHIjobs Job Requirements: Associate's degree in Business or a related field required; two (2) years of accounting experience with bookkeeping/accounting coursework may be substituted for the educational requirement. In addition to the education requirement, two (2) years of payroll and/or human resources experience required. Experience working with collective bargaining agreements, compensation practices, and time and attendance systems. Knowledge of FLSA, COBRA, ERISA, and basic labor laws. Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
