Business Development SpecialistA leading U.S. law firm is seeking a Business Development Specialist to partner closely with its Capital Markets and Public Company Advisory & Governance groups. This is a relationship-driven role at the intersection of client service and business growth, focused on cultivating a loyal client base and driving new work to the firm.The specialist will shape and execute business development strategy in collaboration with the Senior BD Manager and practice group leaders, developing tailored plans with budget recommendations and identifying cross-selling opportunities across the firm. Day-to-day work includes monitoring legal and industry developments to spot new client opportunities, drafting and maintaining practice group marketing materials and pitch/RFP content, and conducting competitive intelligence, market research, and conflicts checks to support prospect targeting. The role also plans marketing events, seminars, sponsorships, and directory submissions such as Chambers & Partners rankings, while identifying speaking and networking opportunities and tracking results to sharpen effectiveness.Candidates should have a bachelor's degree and at least four years of professional services marketing experience, ideally with a law firm and transactions practice background. Strong writing, research, project management, and business acumen are essential, along with the ability to thrive in a matrixed organization.New York salary range: $80,000–$112,000. Washington, D.C. salary range: $76,000–$106,000.
