Position Overview The IT Manager will serve as our internal technology authority—the go‑to resource for systems, tools, and the operational workflows that keep the agency running efficiently. In this role, you will own and manage our Microsoft365 and SharePoint environments, oversee our SaaS portfolio, and serve as the primary liaison with our Managed Service Provider (MSP). You will provide on‑site support while also working at a higher level to drive process improvement and technology efficiency across the organization. This role blends hands‑on problem solving with strategic systems thinking—ideal for someone equally comfortable resolving an issue on the spot and planning for what the business needs next. Job Responsibilities MSP Relationship Management Serve as the primary liaison with our Managed Service Provider—reviewing Statements of Work and agreements, holding the MSP accountable to service commitments, and representing the agency in regular performance reviews. Escalate and track open issues to resolution, ensuring nothing falls through the cracks. Technology Initiatives & Project Oversight Lead and manage active technology initiatives, including Intune/MAM implementation, BYOD policy rollout, and ongoing cybersecurity improvements. Prioritize and manage competing projects with a clear sense of urgency and follow‑through. Microsoft365 & SharePoint Ownership Own, administer, and continuously optimize the Microsoft365 environment, including SharePoint architecture, permissions, governance, and user adoption. Identify and implement underused M365 capabilities that can improve collaboration and efficiency across the agency. IT Documentation & Knowledge Management Build and maintain comprehensive IT documentation, SOPs, and system guides so that institutional knowledge lives with the organization— not any single individual. Ensure documentation stays current as systems and processes evolve. Process Improvement & Cross‑Functional Partnership Partner with departments across the agency to identify inefficiencies and deliver technology solutions that improve how work gets done. Serve as a proactive advisor—bringing ideas to the table before problems arise. SaaS & Software Portfolio Management Own the company’s full software portfolio—conduct regular audits for redundancy, eliminate unused licenses, identify gaps, and ensure every platform delivers value. Manage vendor relationships, renewals, and contract terms across the software stack. Asset Management & Device Lifecycle Maintain an accurate, up‑to‑date IT asset inventory. Manage the full device lifecycle from procurement and configuration through retirement and disposal. On‑Site Support & Employee Experience Provide responsive, friendly on‑site support for devices, printers, peripherals, and workplace technology. Own the new‑hire onboarding technology experience—ensuring every employee is set up, connected, and ready to contribute from day one. Qualifications & Skills Required Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field—or equivalent hands‑on experience. 5+ years in IT, with at least 2+ years serving as a lead IT resource or in a coordination and oversight capacity. Strong Microsoft365 administration experience, including SharePoint, Teams, EntraID, and Intune; Microsoft certifications a plus. Proven track record managing vendor and MSP relationships, including contract review, performance accountability, and escalation management. Experience auditing and managing a multi‑platform SaaS environment—evaluating tools for value, eliminating redundancy, and managing renewals. Solid understanding of cybersecurity best practices, endpoint management, and device lifecycle management. Experience building and maintaining IT documentation, SOPs, and knowledge bases. Strong project management skills—able to prioritize, manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, and follow through without prompting. Exceptional communicator with the ability to translate technical concepts for non‑technical employees at all levels. High degree of integrity and professionalism, with a strict commitment to confidentiality. Technical Requirements Proficiency in DHCP, DNS, Active Directory, and TCP/IP networking protocols. In‑depth working knowledge of Microsoft365, EntraID, and related Microsoft products. Experience administering or supporting Google Workspace in a business environment—plus. Experience with Microsoft Server environments and client‑server architecture. Hands‑on experience with Intune, endpoint management, and deploying and configuring workstations. Working knowledge of Cisco Duo deployment and management. Experience troubleshooting and deploying network switches and understanding of network topologies. Familiarity with Android and iOS device management. Experience working within formal change‑management processes. Broad knowledge of computer hardware, software systems, and information analysis. Hands‑on experience with AI tools and implementation. Certifications in relevant areas such as cybersecurity, Microsoft technologies, project management, or systems architecture.
