Responsibilities
- Deliver direct nursing care to NICU patients according to established standards and the nursing process.
- Monitor neonatal status, interpret assessments, and respond to changes with appropriate interventions.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans; coordinate care with physicians, therapists, and other team members.
- Administer medications, monitor for adverse effects, and manage equipment used in neonatal care.
- Educate patients’ families, participate in discharge planning, and facilitate continuity of care after transfer or discharge.
- Supervise and direct activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff; delegate tasks as appropriate.

Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice (California)
- Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) from an approved vendor; Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification from an approved vendor
- Experience: At least two years of recent experience in the NICU or a similar acute care setting
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Ability to work in a NICU/postpartum care environment and to fulfill the duties of a 36-hour weekly assignment
