Temporary Payroll Specialist

Our client, a luxury fashion brand , is seeking a Temporary Payroll Specialist to join the team at their corporate office in New York City . This is a 2‑3 week assignment starting immediately with a hybrid, full‑time schedule (four days in office). Candidates must be comfortable working flexible hours to support the needs of the business. Work Duties Work closely with the payroll team in processing biweekly payroll for the assigned region. Enter exceptions, transfers, and adjustments as needed through the time and attendance system in order to process bi-weekly payroll based on state‑specific PTO and final pay laws. Partner with retail managers to complete new hire onboarding process to ensure new incumbents are set up in timekeeping and HRIS system. Alongside the benefits team, administer benefit programs, including medical, dental, life insurance, employee assistance program, retirement, and other plans. Partner with third‑party vendors and HR on all leaves of absences including short‑term disability, FMLA, and worker’s compensation claims. Provide quality customer service to employees by answering benefit questions and resolving issues. Job Qualifications 2+ years of related compensation & benefits experience. Experience with multistate payroll processing, including knowledge of California pay law. Retail or luxury backgrounds preferred. Proficiency in data analytics. Strong Excel skills including pivot tables, v‑lookups, and formulas. Able to manage fast paced, high volume requests. Detail and deadline oriented. Strong multi‑tasking skills. Pay $35–40 per hour.
