This position will provide multi-disciplined security support to AFRL/RF Rome Research Site and its facilities. The primary function will be to assist the Government Special Access Program Security Officer (GSSO) in providing for the protection and safeguarding of Special Access Program (SAP), and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) activities and to assist with the development, maintenance, and execution of policies for safeguarding data in support of US military operations while identifying vulnerabilities, threats, and risks to testing, training, and operational activities. Specific support to include the development of an overall program protection strategy, encompassing OPSEC, Physical, Personnel, and IT security, while managing the development, implementation, and audit of the overall security posture.

Responsibilities: Assist the GSSO in the protection and safeguarding of SAP, and SCI activities while managing all customer compliance requirements. Assist the GSSO by providing day-to-day multi-disciplined security support and technical expertise across program management, Personnel Security, Information Security, Physical/Industrial Security, and Operations Security (OPSEC). Assist the GSSO in developing, executing, and updating approved policies, internal security processes, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Emergency Action Plans (EAPs), and Operating Instructions (OIs). Assist the GSSO in preparing, disseminating, and interpreting security policy and guidance pertaining to the processing, dissemination, and controlling of classified materials. Assist the GSSO in collaborating with internal/external managers, members of the Department of War (DoW), the Intelligence Community (IC), and other officials to maintain understanding of current security regulations and program operations. Assist the GSSO in identifying vulnerabilities, threats, and risks to testing, training, and operational activities. Assist the GSSO with conducting continuous assessments of security procedures to identify shortfalls, monitor operations, and provide status reports and recommendations to the program manager team and government customer. Assist the GSSO with conducting annual security self-inspections to document and review the security program, identifying and correcting deficiencies. Assist the GSSO with initiating and overseeing security inquiries. Assist the GSSO by performing Defense Information System for Security (DISS) and Special Access Program Nomination Process (SAPNP) reviews of candidates being submitted for SAP access to include, prepare, process, and review Program Access Requests (PARs) for accuracy and access eligibility. Assist the GSSO with security clearance processing, reviewing, tracking, and monitoring activities in coordination with appropriate government personnel. Perform data entry, record checks, and continuously update/maintain appropriate administrative records (database and hardcopy) of security actions in JADE and other systems. Assist the GSSO by performing security indoctrinations, briefings, and debriefings for personnel. Assist the GSSO in ensuring personnel are aware of reporting responsibilities for Foreign Contact, Foreign Travel, and Outside Activities. Assist the GSSO in all aspects of physical security, including entry control and access control for badges. Assist the GSSO with maintaining facility access control entry systems, visitor control, meeting rosters, and visitor badges. Assist the GSSO by conducting alarm checks, coordinating guard force response, and performing alarm tests. Assist the GSSO by conducting entry/exit checks IAW policy and regulation. to ensure prohibited devices are not introduced and classified materials are not improperly removed. Assist the GSSO in identifying and reporting infrastructure deficiencies to ensure facilities meet all DoD and Air Force requirements. Maintain daily administrative security logs and security records. Assist the GSSO and ISSM with Special Access and Top-Secret Control for accountable material, magnetic media, and associated correspondence. Assist the GSSO in receive and dispatch mail and packages, to include receipt of classified materials. Assist the GSSO in creating, managing, executing, and updating a comprehensive Security Education Awareness Training (SEAT) program. Open/Close facility. Perform the destruction duties as assigned. Requirements: Must be a US citizen. Active Top Secret clearance with SCI and SAP eligibility. Minimum of 5 years of experience supporting federal agencies or military operations in a classified environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with DoD networks and systems. Successful background and drug screening check. Preferred Requirements: Knowledge of US government security policies, procedures, and regulations. Experience as Activity/Program Security Representative.
