Senior Applied AI Engineer

Position: AI/ML Engineer (GenAI) / Software Engineer 4 – Contingent
Location: Charlotte, North Carolina
Hybrid: Minimum 3 days on-site per week required.

Job Overview:
In this contingent resource assignment, you will consult on complex initiatives with broad impact and large-scale planning for Software Engineering. You will review and analyze multi-faceted, larger-scale, or longer-term Software Engineering challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented factors. Additionally, you will contribute to the resolution of complex situations requiring a solid understanding of functional policies, procedures, and compliance requirements to meet deliverables. Collaboration and strategic consultation with client personnel will also be a key aspect of this role.

Responsibilities:

• Consult on complex initiatives with broad impact and large-scale planning for Software Engineering.
• Analyze and resolve multi-faceted, larger-scale, or longer-term Software Engineering challenges.
• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and deliverable requirements.
• Collaborate strategically with client personnel to achieve project goals.
• Implement Generative AI solutions to automate operational processes, particularly corporate customer requests.
• Develop and deploy AI agents and RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) solutions.
• Build and maintain workflow automation platforms using Python, Lang Graph, and other AI development frameworks.
• Design and implement Document AI/Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) solutions involving OCR, PDF parsing, data extraction, and API integration.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of Software Engineering experience or equivalent demonstrated through work, consulting experience, training, military experience, or education.
• 3+ years of experience in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Generative AI, or Intelligent Automation solutions.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Python and AI development frameworks, including Lang Chain, Lang Graph, Google ADK, and agent-based architectures.
• 3+ years of experience implementing Document AI/Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) solutions.
• Strong experience building and deploying LLM-powered applications, AI agents, and workflow automation platforms.
• Ability to demonstrate hands-on implementation experience with GenAI concepts and solutions.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to explain technical decision-making with concrete examples.

Pay Range: $65-70/hr.

The specific compensation for this position will be determined by several factors, including the scope, complexity, and location of the role, as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
