The Accounting Manager supervises, monitors, and evaluates the day-to-day accounting activities. The individual will prepare, and analysis financial data required to successfully support Sonny's endeavors. The manager will work with people at all levels of the organization to report, monitor, and manage key financial and non-financial performance indicators. This position also helps the business unit achieve goals, anticipate needs, and resolve problems.
This is an on-site position at our corporate headquarters in Tamarac, FL.
Responsibilities
• Manage the day-to-day accounting activities such as AP, AR, and Taxes
• Assist Controller with management of month-end and year-end closing process
• Reconcile Balance sheet accounts on monthly basis
• Manage collection activities such as negotiating with past due accounts, bankruptcies, etc.
• Responsible for cash forecasting
• Ensure Expense reports are submitted timely and accurately
• Approve vouchers for payment, manage the terms and the prompt pay discounts
• Handle all aspects of banking
• Compile various reporting packages for the management
• Calculate monthly and quarterly sales and use tax and file returns
• Assist and coordinate efforts with year-end audit
• Mentor, supervise and train Accounting staff
• Maintain and document internal control processes & procedures
• Comply with federal, state, and local requirements
• Adhere to accounting guidelines and mindful of new guidance
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
• Accounting - Knowledge of accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking, reporting and research skills.

• Knowledge of computers and relevant software applications - Proficient in MS Word, Excel, MS Outlook and Internet Explorer.

Education and Formal Training:
• 4-year Degree required, with a concentration in Business, Accounting or Finance
Experience:
• 5+ yrs. of Accounting experience
• CPA preferred
• 5+ yrs. of Management experience preferred
• SAP ECC experience required
• Advanced skills in MS Excel Required
• ERP setup and IT infrastructure knowledge preferred
