Satellite Kitchen Operator

Under direction, to operate a serving kitchen facility. Satellite Kitchen Operator orders supplies such as paper goods, fruit, cereal, from vendors. Monitors other satellite kitchen staff and reports to cooking kitchen manager for any problems. Makes an end of week inventory, keeps record of supplies being used. Paper work is required daily to send to preparation kitchen in regards to food served and leftovers. Receives, heats, and serves meals; prepares simple food items; maintains simple records; and performs related work as required. Examples of Duties: Monitor the work of satellite kitchen staff to ensure timely food service. Inventory food and equipment. Order food and supplies from vendors and warehouse. Prepare simple daily operational reports. Prepare simple food items for satellite kitchen. Check hot and cold carts for temperature and completeness of order. Count serving trays. Transport food from refrigerator and cart to serving counter. Perform simple record keeping and reporting.

Requirements / Qualifications

Must be a current Food Service Employee in the Garvey School District. Must possess a Food Sanitation Certificate. Must pass the Satellite Kitchen Operator Written Test. Must provide test results if previously taken. Must have working-level experience performing routine food service work. Must successfully pass the application paper screening phase. Applicants who pass the application paper screening process will be scheduled to take the Satellite Kitchen Operator Written Test on a future date. Successful applicants who pass the written test will be scheduled for an oral interview.
